Belted Galloway
The Belted Galloway is a traditional Scottish breed of beef cattle. It derives from the Galloway cattle of the Galloway region of south-western Scotland and was established as a separate breed in 1921. The breed is known for thriving on grass pasture, having a highly adaptable coat, and being fierce protectors of their young. They are adored for their eye-catching white band, which must be solid but can vary in shape and width, making each one as unique as a snowflake. Their easy going personalities and calm demeanor make them an exception breed to have in the pasture and in the show ring. Belted Galloway meat is praised for its high quality, its excellent marbling, its low saturated fat content, and, of course, its great taste.
